Need Moving Help? Meet Justin Stone – Buddytruk’s First Social Hauler

Moving Help with Buddytruk
Meet the moving help: Justin Stone was the first to join the Buddytruk team!

Ferdinand Magellan was the first to circumnavigate the world. Neil Armstrong was the first to walk on the moon. Orville and Wilbur Wright were the first to take to the sky. And Justin Stone was the first to become a Buddytruk driver. Legends, all of them.

Okay, okay, we get it. Justin might not carry the same historical weight as Ferdinand, Neil, Orville, and Wilbur (yes, we are on a first name basis), but, to us, Justin is just as big of a rockstar. As the first to join our team, Justin is truly the first of the Social Haulers. Buddytruk is exceptionally grateful to have someone on the team that shares our mindset for offering hauling and moving help at the tap of a button. Let’s take this opportunity to meet the man, the legend – Justin Stone.

Moving Help Master

After moving to Los Angeles only a few months ago from Lake in the Hills, Illinois (just a stone’s throw from Chicago) to pursue a career in standup comedy and television writing, Justin joined the Buddytruk team after finding a driver application on Reddit. Although he spends much of his time working on new material, he has become a steadfast Buddytruk driver. We picked Justin’s brain on Social Hauling, Los Angeles, Chicago, pizza (hint – he’s not a fan of our local stuff), and Buddytruk. Let’s see what he has to say.

Justin Stone joined the Buddytruk team after a long move from Illinois.

Buddytruk: So you are our very first Social Hauler. Woohoo! What made you interested in joining Buddytruk?

Justin: I loved the idea of working around my schedule. I have really random hours when I’m writing my standup routines, so becoming a Buddytruk driver just fit perfectly into my schedule. Plus, I love meeting new people, and this is a great opportunity for exactly that.

Buddytruk: How do you feel about joining the Social Hauling movement?

Justin: I love helping people out! I used to work at a bank back in Illinois, and customer interaction was my favorite part of the job. Moving and hauling can be a really tough task to do, especially when you don’t have a big vehicle. I’m happy to put my truck to work and help out. And being able to make money doing it is a huge bonus!

BuddytrukSo you’re pretty new to Los Angeles. What’s your favorite part of Los Angeles so far?

Justin: Aside from the cliché “weather” answer (which, seriously, is it always this nice?), I’d have to say the food and the nightlife in general. I’m really loving the food truck scene out here too – there’s seriously something for everybody.

Buddytruk: Tell us about the biggest move you have ever had to make?

Justin: By far, the biggest move I’ve ever had to make was packing up mine and my friend’s stuff to move our items from Illinois to Los Angeles. I didn’t even realize I had that much stuff…

Buddytruk: Cubs or Dodgers?

Justin: Cubs. It’s painful to be a fan, but, Cubs.

Buddytruk: Last question. Who has better pizza: Los Angeles or Chicago?

Justin: Chicago! All day, no question. No offense to any native Angelenos, but your pizza is some of the worst I’ve ever had!

Buddytruk: Ouch. But we’ll take that feedback from our first Social Hauler bringing moving help to Los Angeles!

Stay tuned for another interview with some of our first Social Haulers. And who knows, they might have better taste in pizza than Justin does!
